The problems it solves

Traditional gift cards are one-dimensional

  • Plastic limits where a gift gets spent

A physical card works only with your POS, is more likely to go unspent, and is hard to track on your bottom line.

  • Givers and recipients remain anonymous

A gift card purchase touches two of your customers, but your loyalty program captures neither.

  • They don't solve additional pain points

Gift cards don't integrate natively into your app to assist with alternative payment methods, like group payment.

Why not the incumbent

A gift card ends at redemption. A gifted balance doesn't

Why it pays

Gifts drive repeat purchasing behavior for multiple customers

A gift is money already committed to your store for a recipient who is likely to spend. The balance keeps them coming back long after the gift is gone.

Common questions

No. There is no KYC at receipt: the value lands as spendable balance and verification fires later, when the customer transacts in a way that requires it.

Yes. Group Funding collects from many contributors toward one balance and one goal, and Payments handles the money movement behind it.

It can coexist. Gift runs alongside a plastic program first and migrates from it after, rather than requiring the old program to be switched off to start.

Customer funds are held in accounts at Accrue’s sponsor bank. Banking services are provided by Cross River Bank, Member FDIC.
